How do I configure my Apple iPhone or iPod Touch to synchronize contacts with the outerHOST GroupWare system?

A third-party product, the Synthesis SyncML Client, must be downloaded to enable your device to synchronize with the outerHOST mail system.

Please point your iPhone or iPod Touch to the following Apple Store location:

Be sure to download the free Client application and not the other software program which must be purchased.

After installing, please push the SyncML icon that appears on your home screen.

You will see the SyncML synchronization page (pictured below). Tap the Settings button at the bottom of the screen.

Tap the arrow next to the Server Settings option.

Tap the URL preference item (pictured below) and enter the following information:

Important! Make sure that all forward slashes that appear in the URL above have been entered, including the trailing slash.

In the "User" preference item, please type your full e-mail address.

In the "Password" item, please enter your e-mail account password.

Push the blue "Settings" button at the top-left corner of the screen to return to the Synchronization page.
Ensure the "Contacts" option reports that it is ON and then click the blue arrow next to Contacts.

Change the "Server Path" item to read the following:

"Contacts"

Note that this is case sensitive and should not include the quotation marks.

Push the "Settings" button in the top left corner. Now push the "Done" button.

Click the "Start Synchronization" button to verify your settings work.
